Do you ever find yourself feeling completely cluttered and unorganized? I'm not just referring to the space around you; but your mind also. However, I believe these two things are in complete relation to one another and you may not even realize it.

When you sit down to relax at the end of a busy day, are you really relaxing or is your mind taking you to a million places and preventing you from completely letting go of the days events? I have personally struggled with this but have found some solutions that help me and I hope you can take these and implement them into your life as well.
I find that in order for my mind to relax, I need the space around me to foster that type of mind set. If my house is messy and unorganized, I can't just sit. I find myself thinking, "I should clean that up," or "I really need to get that put away." Take a couple minutes to do a quick sweep of the space around you; fold a blanket, take a cup into the kitchen, put your remotes in their place, organize your couch pillows and pick up toys if there are any.
I also try to do something each day that feeds my soul. Drinking a cup of coffee and seeking inspiration on Pinterest helps my motivation. I try to look at motivational quotes each morning to get myself in the mind-set I need for the day. You could read a chapter in the latest book you're reading, journal, do a little shopping, or get your nails done. Do whatever makes you happy!
Fresh flowers really have a way of making a space feel welcoming and calm. I try to keep a fresh vase of flowers in my workspace at home because I love the smell and the feeling they give me. You can do a fresh vase of spring flowers, or even a favorite plant of yours that brings some of the outdoors in.
Its fall here now, and I love a good smelling fall candle. Pick your favorite and put it somewhere in your home where you can watch it burn. The ambiance of a candle always makes me feel cozy and warm and helps my mind stay at ease.
