Hey everyone! I'm Sarah, the short friend. I have many different hats I wear; mom, wife, friend, business owner, virtual assistant, snack-maker, juice-fetcher, kiddie-wrangler, cook, housekeeper, and everything in between!
I have been married to my husband Travis since 2013. We really enjoy spending time together, whether it's enjoying an adult beverage together at home or perusing the aisles of Menards with no kids. My husband is in the military and has deployed to Iraq once and Afghanistan twice. We are a blended family and have three kids. Our oldest is my daughter from my first marriage, Lucie. She is 11 and the pre-teen years are upon us in full force. She loves her friends, her phone, and gymnastics. Our second child is Christopher. He is almost 10, loves farming, and has the kindest soul. He is my husbands son from a previous relationship and I just recently had the honor of adopting him. Our youngest is Evie. She is 5 and the sass is strong with this one. She runs the house and knows it, but is so sweet when she wants to be.
I used to work in the corporate world but we came into some circumstances that required me to quit my 9 to 5 and be home with the kids. I started my own in-home daycare and ran that for 3 years. With the changing needs of my family, I closed my daycare and began working from home as the owner of my own Virtual Assistant business. It has been a great change for our family and I love what I do.
In my rare spare time I love being creative. I love decorating my home and am constantly changing something. Travis never knows what the house will be like when he comes home at night. He has to constantly ask me where things are because I am always moving things. I love reading, although I rarely find time for that. I also love spending time with Britney - she's my best friend and Barn Charming better half. Britney has the kindest heart and keeps me grounded. She is honest and also keeps my soul young when I am feeing old. When we started Barn Charming we made custom home decor and had a small retail space. We have recently changed our focus to be more of a self-care/inspirational platform to inspire other women and empower them to achieve their dreams and goals; the reason we are starting this new venture!
